Astro-Physics 7" f/9 refractor on an Astro-Physics 706 German equatorial mount. Magnification 243x - 304x. Filters used include Yellow (W12), Orange (W23), light Red (W23A), Red (W25) Magenta (W30), Green (W58), Blue (W80A), and Violet (W47).
South is at the top, north at the bottom, preceding on the left, and following on the right.
The South Polar Cap appears quite small. Large limb cloud along the following edge is well defined in the W80A filter. Later this cloud disappeared and then noted limb haze along northern edge and preceding limb. Here is a link to a color version of this sketch that identifies the nomenclature.
